Avdat National Park

Avdat National Park in the Negev, in the south of Israel, encompasses the remains of one of the famed ancient Nabatean cities along the Incense Route.  It was over this road that costly incense, perfumes and spices were brought out of Arabia, across the Negev and to the Mediterranean ports.
In this project, light designer, Koby Rosental, worked hand-in-hand with d-led's outdoor solutions lighting fixtures. 80 pieces of d-led's Gallux and 16 units of Channel tube were installed, illuminating the walls of the ancient city, keeping the historical monument a dignified place for sightseeing and at the same time making it a spectacle of lights for drivers on the road at night. In addition, Rosental had the challenge of choosing the right LED CCT and CRI in order to protect the animals in the natural reserve and safeguard the archeological preservation.
All the fixtures were 230V with drivers on board. As the area is surrounded by wild animals such as: foxes, deer, oryx, hyaena and more, the fixtures were placed inside metal cages to protect them at night.
